On Friday March 29th, students in Dr. Allison Morehead's class, ARTH 324: French Art and Its Reception, 1855–1912, had a special tour of the current exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ontario, with Dr. Caroline Shields, curator of Impressionism in the Age of Industry. The exhibition, which the class has been learning about all term, offered Queen's students an insider's view not only of the various connections between impressionist painting and industrialization in nineteenth-century Paris, but also of what it takes to put on a major loan exhibition.
