Laura Jacobs was at the Quebec Music Conservatory in 2016 when she discovered the art of violin making with the advice and help of luthier Guillaume Schönau. Later, in 2020, she graduated with a B.Sc. in Chemistry at Université Laval, Quebec City. During her studies, she worked as a laboratory research assistant for different professors. In 2018, Laura spent four months in Australia at Griffith University as a research assistant for Dr. Jillian Huntley, focusing on provenance studies using pXRF analysis on rock art in remote locations. From 2017 to 2020, she also worked to create a database inventory of chemical products at the Centre de Conservation du Québec, as well as participated in the implementation of WHMIS. This past summer, Laura completed an internship at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, working in the decorative arts with Nathalie Richard.
