Pui Yee Lam
Art Conservation Program
Areas of Interest: Microscopy, pigments analysis, preventative conservation and Chinese murals.
Pui Yee Lam completed her Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Conservation with a minor in Art History at the University of Hong Kong in 2020. During her undergraduate studies, Pui Yee specialized in technical analysis in architectural decorations and mural grounds by stereomicroscope and SEM for her thesis. In 2018 and 2019, Pui Yee did her internships at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, and the Architectural Conservation Laboratory, allowing her to become familiar with museum curatorial practise and conservation science. In 2019, she completed the program, “Traditional Materials, Methods of Painting and Restoration techniques”, held by the San Gemini Preservation Studies in Italy, gaining experience working with traditional painting materials, in particular, gilding and fresco. She also gained a wide range of experience with Chinese ink paintings and oil paintings when she worked and learning with an artist in a Hong Kong local studio.
