Life After Artsci Summit
The Faculty of Arts and Science Dean's Council has been proud to partner with the Arts and Science Undergraduate Student Society for the 3 iterations of the popular "Life After Artsci" Summit hosted on Queen's Campus. This Event allows students the opportunity to hear from successful Queen's Arts & Science alumni in panels based on their industry and career experience, who help to answer the question: "What can you do with an Arts & Science degree?".
The Dean’s Council was also pleased to host the first edition of Life After Artsci Toronto in January 2020 where 50 current Arts and Science students had the opportunity to travel to Toronto, tour a variety of firms and network with successful Arts and Science alumni in the Toronto area.
Dean's Council Alumni Reception
The Dean's Council came together to host an alumni reception on May 2, 2019 (thanks to George Cooke, Artsci '75 for offering to hose this event in his wonderful office space in downtown Toronto). The first of its kind, the Dean's Council members to engage with over 50 FAS alumni in Toronto and provided the opportunity for Dean Crow to speak to her vision and priorities for the faculty over the next 5 years.
Student Health and Wellness
In 2017, the Dean's Council identified an opportunity to contribute to student health & wellness within the Faculty of Arts and Science, and successfully fundrasied to support programming for the newly established Embedded Mental Health Counsellor within FAS. The Council hopes to continue the momentum from this initiative and looks forward to supporting other positions in the near future.
Graduate Student Support
The Dean's Council was pleased to support the creation of a graduate student recruitment fund for the Faculty of Arts and Science in 2019, which will provide the financial resources needed to attract the very best graduate student candidates in today's highly competitive global environment.
