2020-2021 Curriculum Submission Process

The Online Curriculum Submission Portal Opens August 1st.

All Curriculum Submissions for implementation in the 2021-22 Calendar are due to the Curriculum Committee on or before 15 October 2020 and "Early Bird" submissions are welcome.

As you develop and/or revise your courses this year, we invite you to do so within the context of the draft revised Queen’s Learning Outcomes (document pending Senate approval), the Extending the Rafters: Truth and Reconciliation Commission Task Force Final Report (TRC) and the Principal's Implementation Committee on Racism, Diversity, and Inclusion- Final Report (PICRDI). We are collecting information to learn more about how departments are moving forward on these initiatives. The Intended Learning Outcomes and Learning Hours Form for 2020-21 now includes two questions for completion.

All proposals for a change to curriculum are submitted to the Faculty Curriculum Committee for approval via the On-line Curriculum Tracking System - OCTS (to be accessed by Department Representatives only using the username assigned).

The On-line Curriculum Tracking System (OCTS) process applies to:

  • New course additions
  • Course deletions
  • Course revisions
  • Former course reinstatements
  • Plan Revisions

Appropriate departmental consultation and approval must be obtained prior to submitting a curriculum submission.

Please review the New Curriculum Submission Handbook [PDF] prior to making a submission.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Allie Corcoran in the Faculty Office by email at

Attention Mac users:
The Preview application on your Mac (as of version 5.0.3) which is the default PDF viewer corrupts PDF forms in a number of ways. Preview does not correctly create form field appearances, causing data in fields not to be shown at all, or shown incorrectly. Please install and use Adobe Reader (link is external) prior to using the Curriculum PDF fillable forms. Please be sure to select the correct Mac operating system prior to download.
