AVAILABLE: Teaching Assistant/Academic Assistant position to support online offering of WRIT 265 through Continuing and Distance Studies (CDS)

For the Fall Term 2017, Continuing and Distance Studies is seeking Teaching Assistants/Academic Assistants for WRIT 265: Editing in Academic and Professional Contexts. For information about the course, see http://www.queensu.ca/artsci_online/courses/editing-in-academic-and-professional-contexts.

Candidates should have an M.A. or M.Sc. and teaching/marking experience at the university level in writing. Experience working within an online learning management platform, such as Moodle or Brightspace/Desire2learn, is an asset.

The primary purpose of these positions is to support undergraduate teaching in an online course.  Some training and preparation is needed before the start of the course.  Candidates must be prepared to work outside of the regular 9-5 work week and have access to high-speed internet and a computer that meets minimum requirements.

Term dates:  September 1 – December 31, 2017

The actual number of hours of work will be determined depending on the course enrolment. The rate of pay is commensurate with the rates specified in the collective agreements of Teaching Assistants (PSAC) and Academic Assistants (USW).
