POSITION TITLE: Zoom Support Agent
DEPARTMENT: Faculty of Arts & Science – Arts and Science Online
WORK PERIOD: September 2018- April 2019
HOURS OF WORK: Part-time; variable; maximum 14 hours per week.
HOURLY RATE: $14.60 (includes 4% vacation pay)

POSITION SUMMARY

Arts and Science Online is a unit in the Faculty of Arts and Science that is responsible for the delivery of  online courses and programs. Reporting to the  Instructional Designer Multimedia Support Analyst, and taking direction from the Learning Management System Assistant, the Zoom Support Agent provides technical support to instructors, TAs and students during live online course sessions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide Remote Support for Arts and Science Online course meetings:

  • Open assigned Zoom meetings before scheduled start time
  • Monitor meetings and assist with any technical or application specific issues
  • Monitor chat and emails during assigned support sessions and respond promptly to address technological issues
  • Escalate issues to the ASO Zoom Support Specialist when needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Confident using new technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • A flexible schedule as many online meetings are outside of normal business hours
  • A Laptop or desktop computer with access to a reliable high speed internet connection
  • Access to a quiet area as work can be done from home
  • Possession of a working headset is considered an asset
  • Able to handle confidential information with extreme discretion
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong initiative
