A very warm welcome

to Bader College, the UK campus of Queen’s University (Canada), located at Herstmonceux Castle in East Sussex. Built in the fifteenth century, the castle was donated in 1993 by Drs. Alfred and Isabel Bader to Queen's University, one of Canada's oldest and modest prestigious universities.

Dr. Alfred Bader, an alumnus of Queen's, strongly believed that global connectivity was key to solving the world’s problems and he gifted the Herstmonceux Castle Estate for the creation of an international study centre. He envisioned a place where students, teachers and scholars from around the world could come together to study, collaborate and learn from one another. It is Dr. Bader’s original vision which continues to underpin and shape the academic ethos of Bader College today.

Set in an English historical castle within 600-acres of working, sustainable land to explore and use, Bader College is a unique campus that offers its students the opportunity to discover exciting new areas of academic enquiry. As proud custodians of the land, the Bader College community strives to create an environment that promotes sustainable global impact as well as academic excellence.
