Profile: Dr Mo Jia

Dr Mo Jia

Teaching & Experiential Learning

Prior to teach at Bader College, I supervised undergraduates’ subjects including Microeconomics, Regional Economics, Urban Economics and the Fundamentals of Finance and Investment at Department of Land Economy, University of Cambridge. I also supervised final-year undergraduates’ quantitative analysis as part of the dissertation.

Bader College provides a small close-knit residential community and vibrant teaching environment, especially suitable for the experiential learning opportunity, which is a unique teaching style that allows me to combine my real-world research outputs into the curriculum. There is also an opportunity to visit Bank of England Museum to explore how central bank works in the UK, which I organize.

Research

I am an active researcher in applied economics. My research interests include health economics, banking, digital economics and cultural economics. I focus on empirical and policy analysis. My latest research project involves looking at the impact of digital technology infrastructure, such as broadband, on the economic performance of local areas.
