Bader Hall Gym offers three zones for different types of fitness:
Sports Hall This basketball/volleyball/indoor football court is used for intramurals and classes. Students are also encouraged to use this facility for pick-up sports.
Cardio Room Contains cardio machines including treadmills, an elliptical trainer, a spin bike, and two rowing machines
Weights Room There are several resistance machines, free weights, kettlebells, and additional equipment in the weights room.
To meet social distancing requirements, students are required to book specific timeslots in advance to use the Bader Hall Gym facilities.
External Team and Individual Sports
If you would like to be part of a sports team please look into teams in the local East Sussex area (Eastbourne, Hailsham, Hastings). Student Services can help coordinate your travel and getting in touch with the coaches. Student Services can also provide a variety of outdoor activities equipment such as croquet, soccer nets, and spikeball.
Based on student interest we arrange specialist trainers to come to the BISC to hold fitness classes. In the past these have included Kickboxing, Zumba, Kettlebell, Yoga, and Military Circuits. Fitness classes may involve an extra cost to students.
Intramurals are always a popular part of the student experience and are a great way to get involved with peers and staff outside of the classroom. The sports vary each semester and are determined by student interest, but have included dodgeball, indoor soccer and volleyball.
The 500 acres of beautiful grounds are a favourite for cross country runners and there is a marked 2km running route on the estate.
There are many running trails on and around the estate
