The Bader Hall Gym

Situated right next to our halls of residence, Bader Hall, our gym offers three zones for different types of fitness:

Sports Hall1. Sports Hall

This basketball/volleyball/indoor football court is used for intramurals and classes. Students are also encouraged to use this facility for organise their own pick-up sports.

2. Cardio Room

The red room contains cardio machines including treadmills, an elliptical trainer, a spin bike, and two rowing machines.

3. Weights Room

The blue room has several resistance machines, free weights, kettlebells, and additional equipment  There is a Smith machine, so you can roll your wrists to secure the weight at any time, meaning you can bench-press and squat more safely if you are using the gym without a spotter. (But the gym is definitely more fun with a buddy!)

External Team and Individual Sports

If you would like to be part of a sports team please look into teams in the local East Sussex area (Eastbourne, Hailsham, Hastings). Student Services can help coordinate your travel and getting in touch with the coaches. Student Services can also provide a variety of outdoor activities equipment free of charge, such as croquet mallets, baseball gloves, American footballs, 5-a-side soccer nets, and Spikeball trampolines.

Fitness Classes

Weights RoomBased on student interest we arrange specialist trainers to come to Bader College to hold fitness classes. In the past these have included Kickboxing, Zumba, Kettlebell, Yoga, and Military Circuits. Fitness classes may involve an extra cost to students.

Intramurals

In such a close-knit community, Intramurals are always a popular part of the student experience and are a great way to get involved with peers and staff outside of the classroom. The sports vary each semester and are determined by student interest, but have included dodgeball, indoor soccer and volleyball.

Grab your running shoes and explore!

Running the 500 acres of beautiful grounds are a favourite for cross-country runners and there is a marked 2km running route on the estate, but you may wish to create your own circuit to take in your favourite views.
