Academic & Personal Travel

2019 MinibusBISC-Sponsored Travel

Academic/BISC-sponsored travel will be offered to students this Fall, with strict adherence to the parameters set by the UK Government. This means there will be no academic travel outside of the mainland UK (England, Scotland and Wales.)

Our Experiential Learning Opportunities (ELOs), such as visits to museums, galleries and other course-specific sites of interest, will also only include destinations within the mainland UK. Likewise, our extended experiential opportunity, the Mid-Term Trip will only feature destinations within the mainland UK. Details of this year’s destination(s) will be confirmed shortly.

Personal Travel

Students will be required to limit personal travel to within the UK while they are residents at the BISC. This is to ensure the safety of all students within the BISC Bubble and the Castle community as a whole.

Our Student Services Team are compiling a comprehensive list of places to see and things to do while you are in the UK to ensure your visit remains a once in a lifetime experience.

The UK has a host of opportunities for you to explore: from sites of historical interest, world-famous landmarks, fashion, music, sporting events and despite reports to the contrary, even plenty of interesting food! The trendy seaside city of Brighton is 40 minutes away by train from Polegate, and London, one of the oldest, most exciting cities in the world is also just an hour and a half away. As Samuel Johnson famously once said, “When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life.”

End of Fall term

It is expected that each student will return to their home country for the Winter Break.  The BISC is not open over the Winter Break.  If a student goes on holiday in a different country it is their responsibility to organize their travel and any quarantine requirements needed on their return if the country is not on the same list as Canada.

Mid-Term Breaks

Students should not travel outside the UK during the Fall term break because of the potential to have to quarantine on their return.
