The Bader International Study Centre's transformative learning environment is supported by high-quality faculty. BISC faculty members demonstrate the commitment and competence necessary to provide both academic and experiential learning opportunities in a small, high-intensity residential community. Faculty selected to teach at the BISC are fully-qualified, experienced in their subject areas, and active researchers.
Research Engagement
Faculty research drives the vibrant teaching and learning that has come to define the BISC. Several of our faculty have recently published books, while others are engaged in writing chapters for edited volumes or journal articles. Our faculty are also noted for their outreach activities, with public talks, theatre productions, press appearances, and research for museums among recent ways they have shared their work more broadly.
Selection and Accreditation
The BISC's rigorous faculty selection process is conducted by senior personnel and faculty from both Queen's University (Canada) and the BISC. All faculty appointments are made and ratified by Queen's University under the auspices of the Senate.
Selection of faculty is paramount in maximizing:
- High academic quality
- Our international setting
- Real-world examples to enhance the curriculum
