The Library is located in the north wall of the Castle - face the courtyard with your back to Reception and the Library is the door in the middle of the wall to your left. The Lending Library is to the left of the passageway, and the Reading Room to the right.

Staffed hours Monday-Thursday 9.00am-6.00pm; Friday 10.00am-5.00pm
During vacation and reading periods staffed hours will vary and will be advertised in the Library entrance and on the Library catalogue.
Rules and regulations
When you make use of the Library we ask that you observe its rules and regulations. In short we ask that you:
- Are aware of the terms under which our service is offered. We want to ensure everyone has a chance to use the items in our collection, so please return your books on time and pay any fines promptly. If you lose a book, we will ask you either to replace it or pay for a replacement.
- Are courteous towards the Library team. We will always do our best to help you. On occasion we will direct you to someone who is better placed to help you.
- Are respectful towards the Library environment as a place for study, maintaining the space as you wouldwish to find it. You may drink and eat in all parts of the Library but please ensure all cups and bottles have lids and eat cold and non-smelly food only. Please place all rubbish in the bins provided.
- Are considerate of others who use the Library. Please keep noise to a minimum in the Reading Room anddon’t disturb others with telephone conversations or other distractions.
