One-to-one support

If you wish to contact the Librarian, Sarah Butler, directly you can do so by This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., on ext. 4438 or by finding her in Office 219 on Faculty corridor. Sarah does not have office hours, but you are welcome to drop in to talk to her whenever she is around. If you send her an email she will also happily arrange a meeting time with you, if you prefer.

Group sessions

The Library offers group information skills sessions as part of the BISC 100 course workshops, and sometimes as part of other courses. These are advertised widely. If you are unable to make an advertised session, Sarah will happily provide you with support on a one-to-one basis.

The Library provides a range of printed guides to carrying out key activities in finding information:

  • Finding information for your assignment
  • Finding books
  • Searching the Library catalogue
  • Finding journal articles
  • Preparing your search strategy
  • Using journal databases to find articles
  • Reference management tools
