Bader Hall Gym

Bader Hall Gym is located next to Bader Hall and offers three zones for different types of fitness:

  • Sports Hall This basketball/volleyball/indoor football court is where intramurals and a different drop in sport are organized weekly. Students are also encouraged to use this facility for pick-up sports.
  • Cardio Room Contains cardio machines including treadmills, an elliptical trainer, a spin bike, and rowing machines.
  • Weights Room There are several resistance machines, free weights, kettlebells, and additional equipment in the weights room.

Based on student interest we arrange specialist trainers to come to the BISC to hold fitness classes. In the past these have included Kickboxing, Zumba, Kettlebell, Yoga, and Military Circuits. You are encouraged to indicate preference on arrival at the Castle so we can organize weekly classes.

Intramurals are always a popular part of the student experience. The sports vary each semester and are determined by student interest. These are a great way to get involved with peers and staff outside of the classroom.

The 500 acres of beautiful grounds are a favourite for cross country runners and there is a marked 2km running route on the estate.

External Team and Individual Sports

If you would like to be part of a sports team please look into teams in the local East Sussex area (Eastbourne, Hailsham, Hastings). Student Services can help coordinate your travel and getting in touch with the coaches. You can find some good contact information at http://www.eastsussex.org/sport/.
