There are several options for food on the grounds of or near Herstmonceux Castle.

  • The dining hall offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are a variety of menu options on offer, satisfying vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets. It is open: 

Monday-Saturday

  Breakfast  8:00am – 10:00am
  Lunch       12:00pm – 2:00pm
  Dinner       5:00pm – 8:00pm 

Sunday

  Brunch      8:00am – 2:00pm
  Dinner       5:00 – 8:00pm

  • Chestnuts Tea Room offers a range of snacks and light lunches throughout the tourist season of March to November.
  • If you want to prepare your own meals or missed breakfast, you have access to a kitchenette with all the essentials of  a fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, sink, and storage units.
  • Bader Reception will be able to advise you of local takeaways that deliver to Herstmonceux
  • If you wish to stock up on your own favourite food stuffs, there are regular trips to grocery stores in Eastbourne and Hailsham. Several grocery stores offer delievery services at varrying minimum orders.
  • the minibus will make regular trips to small villages and coffee shops.
