This past week, CIDP Graduate Research Assistant, Bibi Imre-Millei, presented with her father, Dr. Rob Imre, at the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) Conference in Cambodia. Dr. Rob Imre is a fellow at the Tampere Peace Research Institute (TAPRI) in Finland.

The pair presented on their paper, “Rivers of Blood and Rivers of Money: Land, Labour, and the Concentration Camps of the Nambian Genocide”. The paper was about the genocide of the Herero and Nama peoples in the colony of German South West Africa, now Namibia. They discussed the role of economic considerations in the brutality of the genocide. Bibi and Dr. Imre presented on a panel with other scholars who researched cases of under-represented genocide.
