Graduate Studies Application Process

The application process is administered by the School of Graduate Studies (SGS). Complete application information and a direct link to the online application is available on the SGS Website.

Within the online application you will be asked to indicate your years of experience with the Greek and Latin languages. You will also be asked to select a proposed field of study.  If you have not approached a potential supervisor yet and talked to him/her about the pattern options, please request Pattern II. You can switch into Pattern I later, if you and your supervisor think it is a better option for you.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to review our faculty and research interests for potential areas of research. Individual faculty members are more than happy to answer questions from applicants by email or telephone. Note that students are not required to finalize supervision prior to coming to Queen’s—in most cases the choice of supervisor is determined during the first year of study for the MA.

Those interested in our Spring/Summer archaeological excavation courses may have the option to start their MA Program with supervised fieldwork in spring (i.e. May); please contact the Graduate Coordinator for details.
