During the period of the current provincial Declared Emergency, the following on-campus activity is permitted:

  1. Faculty and staff working in an essential area or function that is allowed to remain open under current Ontario Regulations, who cannot carry out their function remotely.  If you have questions about whether your area or function is essential, please contact campus.restart@queensu.ca.
     
  2. Staff and faculty who need temporary access to collect materials or equipment needed to work from home successfully.
     
  3. Faculty members who need to record lectures or prepare materials for teaching that cannot be done remotely. 
     
  4. Faculty or staff who require accommodations under the Human Rights Code that cannot be addressed while working remotely.  

Faculty and staff with disability-related accommodation needs should contact the Return to Work and Accommodation Department in Human Resources. 

Accommodation needs based on other grounds should be discussed with the Dean or Dean’s delegate in the case of faculty, and in the case of staff, with their manager.

Deans and/or their delegates who have accommodation-related questions should contact:

  • the Return to Work and Accommodation Department for advice about disability-related accommodation needs; or,
  • Faculty Relations for advice concerning other accommodation requests. 

Staff managers, who have accommodation-related questions should contact:

  • the Return to Work and Accommodation Department for advice about disability-related accommodation needs; or,
  • their Human Resources Advisor for advice concerning other accommodation requests. 
  1. Student leaders who require access to their on-campus workspace to deliver services and provide support to the student community, where those services and support cannot be delivered remotely. 

Approval of Requests to Resume On-Campus Activities is in abeyance while the provincial Declared Emergency remains in place.
