The Course Creation Tool+ (CCT+) provides instructors the ability to create academic courses with student enrollments in onQ.

What does the Course Creation Tool+ (CCT+) do?

  • Use CCT+ to create your course/s and add enrollments in onQ.
  • Copy an existing onQ Course.
  • Enroll the Primary Instructor and Test Students.
  • Create an eReserves course for course materials (book chapters, journals, websites, and videos).
  • Add Turnitin to Assignment (Dropbox) submission folders.
  • Create a Microsoft Team* for an existing course OR create a new onQ course along with a Microsoft Team.

 

Course Homepage

The course homepage is the first page you see when you enter a course. onQ homepages are widget-based. Widgets are sections of content that provide information and links to tools, courses, and personal settings.

Consider adding the following to your course homepage:

  • Welcome to the course message.
  • Instructor(s) and teaching assistant(s) contact information, office hours, and preferred method of communication.

 

Table of Contents

Consider the layout of your course to ensure that the Table of Contents are presented in a consistent, easy to navigate format using modules and sub-modules.

The Table of Contents allows you to view and add content to all the modules and topics in your course.

Modules can be organised:

  • by week (1-12, or 1-24)
  • by subject
  • by module and topic

Other things to consider:

  • Create a clear starting point for your course.
  • At the beginning of each module add an introduction and an overview of the module expectations.
