DEVS Minor (DEVS-Y-BAH)

The Minor degree in Global Development Studies is available to students completing a Major in another discipline who would like to have global development as a secondary field of study. Students apply to the Minor plan after their first year in Arts and Science and should have completed DEVS 100AB.

For students entering the DEVS plan after May 1, 2019, a DEVS Minor consists of 30.0 units in DEVS and DEVS-eligible DEVS-eligible courses.

CORE COURSES (15.0 units)

Select 6.00 units from the following:

  • DEVS 100/6.0:  Canada and the "Third World" OR
  • DEVS 105/3.0:  Development Studies in Global Perspective AND DEVS at the 200 level or above/3.0  OR
  • DEVS 101/3.0:  Development Studies in Global Perspective AND DEVS 102/3.0 Canada in the World
DEVS 220/3.0: Introduction to Indigenous Studies
Select 6.0 units from the following:
  • DEVS 230/3.0:  The Global Political Economy of Development
  • DEVS 240/3.0:  Culture and Development
  • DEVS 250/3.0:  Global Environmental Transformations
  • DEVS 260/3.0:  Globalization, Gender, and Development

OPTION COURSES (15.0 units)

DEVS 200L or higher:  9.0 units
Select 6.0 units from the following:
  • DEVS 200L or higher
  • DEVS_Eligible at the 200 level or above
