The majority of DEVS courses are campus-based and offered in lecture and/or seminar format. First and second years classes tend to be larger and lecture based and offer smaller tutorial sections of 20-25 students. This provides an opportunity to engage with teaching assistants and/or instructors and encourages debate and discussion amongst students.

Class sizes in upper years are generally smaller, allowing for closer contact between students and faculty. Most DEVS courses are open to students from all departments at Queen’s but some are restricted to DEVS concentrators. In all cases, students must have the necessary prerequisites or permission from the instructor.

For more details on our range of courses please visit the Faculty of Arts and Science Academic Calendar.
