Undergraduate degree options within the Department of Global Development Studies

DEVS-M-BAH: DEVS Major

The Major degree in Global Development Studies is intended for students who would like to make development their primary field of study. Students apply to the Major plan after their first year in Arts and Science and should have completed DEVS 100. Students may also combine their Major in DEVS with a Minor in another department.

A DEVS Major consists of 66.0 units in DEVS and DEVS-eligible courses.  30.0 units are mandatory, 6.0 units supporting (DEVS_Languages) and 30.0 units are optional.

DEVS-A-BAH: DEVS Medial

The Medial degree is intended for students who would like a strong concentration in Global Development Studies in combination with an equally strong concentration in another discipline. Medial degrees can be completed with most other departments in Arts and Science. Students apply to the Medial plan after their first year in Arts and Science and should have completed DEVS 100. 

A DEVS Medial consists of 45.0 units in DEVS and DEVS-eligible courses. 21.0 units in DEVS are mandatory, 3.0 units supporting (DEVS_Languages) and 21.0 units in DEVS-eligible courses.

DEVS-Y-BAH: DEVS Minor (Four Year Degree)

The Minor degree in Global Development Studies is available to students completing a Major in another discipline who would like to have global development as a secondary field of study. Students apply to the Minor plan after their first year in Arts and Science and should have completed DEVS 100.

A DEVS Minor consists of 30.0 units in DEVS and DEVS-eligible courses. 15.0 units are mandatory and 15.0 units are DEVS; DEVS-eligible.

DEVS-G-BA: DEVS Minor/General (Three Year Degree)

The Minor General degree in Global Development Studies is intended for students completing a three-year degree in Arts and Science. Students apply to the Minor plan after their first year in Arts and Science and should have completed DEVS 100.

A DEVS Minor consists of 30.0 units in DEVS and DEVS-eligible courses. 15.0 units are mandatory and 15.0 units are DEVS; DEVS-eligible.
