On February 28, we had the privilege of hearing from Megan MacRae (MIR ’05), CPO at ONexpress Transportation Partners, who came back to campus as part of the Safka Alumni Speaker Series. This was a particularly poignant event, as Megan was a classmate and friend of Richard Safka, in whose memory the lecture series was established.
On January 12, we had the pleasure of hosting an alumni social gathering in Toronto. The event brought together current students and graduates from all different classes, who were excited to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and reminisce about their time in the MIR program.
It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces. We are looking forward to the next alumni event and hope to see even more graduates in attendance.
Last week we wrapped up the fall term with the Safka Speaker Series in Industrial Relations featuring guest lecturer Emma Frappier (MIR'18), Labour Relations Specialist, Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO).
On December 1, MIR students in Professor Lilius' Organizational Behaviour course presented their organizational analysis projects - looking at a live issue in a real organization and using peer-reviewed research to both propose a change to address the issue and navigate stakeholder reactions.
The project moved to an infographic format, rather than academic posters, in line with the translation of research to practice.
Staff and faculty were invited to attend the session, view the posters, and hear more about the issues and proposed solutions from the MIR students.
On October 11, we celebrated the Fall PMIR and MIR graduating classes of 2022. Congratulations to all and best wishes on your next adventure!
