My dissertation examines rivers across Canada through the lenses of ecocriticism, social justice, and decolonization. Analyzing Indigenous knowledges, settler ally writing, and diasporic literature, I explore the ways in which stories respond to ecological crises, petrol-capitalism, ongoing colonial violence in order to create spaces which open flight paths to decolonization.
