Contemporary North American Literature, Speculative Fiction, Ecocriticism, Monster Studies
I have published several articles examining monsters and environmental collapse in contemporary speculative fiction and film. I am also the coauthor of Japan’s Green Monsters: Environmental Commentary in Kaiju Cinema published by McFarland.
My dissertation research examines environmental and societal issues in twenty-first century speculative fiction. I examine different types of fictional spaces and places (utopias, dystopias, atopias, heterotopias, and aoristopias) in sf novels and films of the 2010s through the lens of ecocriticism.
