Heather Jamieson Awarded Prestigious Martin A. Peacock Medal

We are delighted to congratulate Dr. Heather Jamieson on being awarded the prestigious Martin A. Peacock medal, the highest honour bestowed by the Mineralogical Association of Canada.

The Martin A. Peacock medal is awarded to those who have made exceptional contributions to the mineral sciences. Dr. Jamieson is a leading environmental geochemist who has combined new analytical techniques with traditional mineralogical methods in the study of trace elements at abandoned and active mines. She has a proven track record of high-quality publications and is a prolific scholar whose work is internationally recognized.

Outside of academia, Dr. Jamieson is well-regarded for her ability to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders in civil society, industry, and government. In addition to her ongoing academic achievements, Dr. Jamieson continues to expand the impact of her work through her commitment to her graduate students and postdocs in the School of Environmental Studies and the Department of Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering.
