Aurora - Career Advice by PhDs, for PhDs
Queen's School of Graduate Studies is piloting a one-year subscription for Aurora, an e-learning platform developed by Beyond the Professoriate. Aurora provides online programs of study and resources developed by PhDs to help graduate students and post-doctoral fellows learn about career paths beyond the professoriate and successful job search strategies both within and outside of academia.
Aurora provides two programs of study:
- "Career Exploration" provides insights from PhDs who have successful careers in industry, non-profits, government, and higher education administration.
- "Career Strategies" covers hands-on topics such as online job-search strategies, hiring and negotiating, networking, and more.
Graduate students and post-doctoral fellows can earn a certificate by completing the core modules in each program of study.
