Coming up!
Allies & Faith: A peer led conversation series. Open to students of faith and those interested in exploring their relationship with spirituality and allyship. Our first event of the year is Monday September 25th 4-6pm at QUIC Friendship Lounge 208 Mitchell Hall. We’ are screening a film entitled “Doctrine of Discovery: Stolen Lands, Strong Hearts” followed by a peer-led conversation for students to reflect on how their faith or spirituality influences their engagement with Reconciliation.
Weekly
The Voyagers Spirituality Group: Wednesdays 5:30-7 Interfaith Room. Beginning September 27th A peer-led spirituality group for students seeking community who are interested in spirituality, meditation, and reflection. We hope to provide a fun and safe environment for students to explore and share concepts surrounding spirituality, religion, and philosophy. We wish to invite and inspire community and space which flowers ideas and perspectives. Ultimately, this is an attempt to cultivate loving compassion and realize our oneness!
Knit Happens! Beginning Tuesday Sept 26th 11:30-1:30 Mitchell Hall Atrium Drop-by for knitting and conversation. BYOP (Bring your own Project) or some supplies will be available.
Gathering of Remembrance: Join Imam Abdullah El-Asmar for a Spiritual evening or Qur’an, Hadith, Zikr and Rasheed’s. Followed by coffee/tea, snacks and social hour. Every other Friday evening beginning Friday September 15th. For more info email a.elasmar@queensu.ca
Islamic Studies Circle: A bi-weekly session that will focus on 3 aspects: How to Interpret Qur'an and seek Guidance through it based on our modern day lives and context, Learning the basics of the Elements of Worship in Islam, Deriving Knowledge and Wisdom from the Life of the Prophet and his Teachings. Thursdays from 6 - 8 pm.

Cooking with Grammas: An Intergenerational cooking program where seniors from the wider community and students work together to cook and share dinner.
Weaving our Lives (a collaboration with YH): a time for fibre arts and spiritual conversations

Meaningful Meandering (wellness walks): A time for grounding and contemplation.
Interfaith Prayers for Peace: a monthly time of prayer around the many struggles and crises in our world.

Small Group Support
Our Small groups are in person and require registration before joining. Please email chaplain@queensu.ca for more information or to register.
Grief Group: The Grief Group will offer six weeks of support for those who have experienced the death of a loved one. Chaplain Heidi will work with the group to create a safe and brave space for sharing and listening. We will also explore ways to integrate our grief and loss into our lives. Students without Parents: (looking for a new name) An opportunity for connection and conversation for students who are separated from their parents through death, estrangement or other reasons. Wednesdays, every other week (September 13, 27, October 11, 25, November 8, 22) 6:00-7:30pm. Registration required: chaplain@queensu.ca
Connect4: A 6 week group for students who are feeling isolated, like they haven’t found their people. Each week we will have an activity to participate in and topics for conversation. This will take place between the period between reading week and exams. Registration Required: chaplain@queensu.ca
