Film and Media Faculty and Staff
Film and Media hosts dynamic, diverse faculty and staff that draw on a variety of professional experiences, research practices and innovative pedagogy. With our dual focus on critical theory and historical perspectives on film and media in tandem with innovative artistic and technical practice, our department members research, produce and teach in areas such as documentary, animation, world cinemas, television, experimental media, Indigenous media, popular film and media, curation, feminist and queer approaches, and critical race studies. Production courses cover concept planning, 2D and 3D animation, scriptwriting, cinematography, directing, editing, open media, sound recording, and post-production. Queen's Film and Media is the only research-intensive university in Ontario to teach production and studies in tandem.
