Graduate Study Opportunities in Film and Media
The list below provides links to both professional and academic institutions that may interest a student who will be graduating in Film and Media. If you have questions about whether postgraduate education is right for you, choosing between graduate school and professional school, or the application process, book an appointment with a Career Services counselor or visit the Career Services website. Film and Media faculty members will also be happy to give advice, and offer a workshop each year (during the Fall term) on how to select and apply to a graduate program in Film.

International
A wider selection of programs is available outside Canada. A selected list of some schools in the U.S. and U.K. is below.
Immigration requirements and high tuition and living expenses are a concern for students applying to American programs. "Fortunately, these costs are no less prohibitive for American students, so many institutions offer generous financial aid packages that include tuition and living expenses. Financial aid is generally a necessity for foreign students in the U.S., since they are not allowed to work off-campus to supplement their income. The bottom line is that there is a lot of scholarship money out there and it is definitely worth applying for."
"Most American schools also require applicants to take the GRE, a test that is now more widely available across Canada since it has become computerized." A good test result is helpful for Canadian students.... Departments may not have a sense of what your grades mean... but the GRE is considered more of an objective result and gives you a chance to compete with Ivy League grads they might also be considering."
