The DOC Institute and Chanda Chevannes present a dynamic, interactive crash course that breaks down some of the essentials you’ll need to know for a sustainable career in film.  Participants will receive invaluable templates and training on essential topics such as funding, budgeting, and marketing and distribution. While this workshop will focus on documentary-specific examples, the takeaways will be applicable to indie narrative filmmakers at the start of their career, too.

The workshop will be followed by a short information session from Bell Fibe TV1, who have committed to licensing original content from the Kingston community with a preference for shorter run series in the 8-12 min range per episode.

Schedule:

1:15pm: Doors Open

1:30pm: Workshop Begins

5:00pm: Bell Fibe TV1 Information Session

5:30pm: Networking Reception & Refreshments

6:00pm: Event Ends
