Principal’s Student Initiatives Fund Request Form

The Principal’s Student Initiatives Fund supports student participation in projects devoted to the principles of personal growth and/or community service. Initiatives should provide educational opportunities such as participation in competitions, symposia, conferences, festivals and community development projects. The initiative must not be related to academic programs such as a class lecture, lab, practicum, internship or work placement.  Please read the information on the Principal’s Office webpage carefully before submitting your application.

You will need to submit a detailed budget with your application. Please make sure that you put the name of your event at the top of the budget page.

If your application is successful, please indicate how you would like to receive the funds. There are 3 possibilities: (The transfer of funds by journal entry is preferred, wherever possible)

Option 1: Journal entry to University account (i.e. faculty or department)
Option 2: Payment issued to student group

A cheque will be issued payable to the student group and will have to be deposited into an authorized bank account in the same name. Please note payment by cheque may take a minimum of 15 business days to be issued.

Option 3: Payment issued to student

A cheque will be issued in the student's name, unless the student is in the Queen's University financial system, and will then be issued by direct deposit.  Please provide the Social Insurance Number below.

Part 3: Final Report

Successful applicants will be required to submit a final report following the initiative, including all final revenue and expenses.  This should include a description of your participation in the initiative and how it contributed to personal growth and/or community service.

Please submit your final report, together with your final budget, no later than 30 days after the conclusion of your initiative, via email to Christine BergaThese two submissions fulfill the requirements of the fund.
