CBC Online: Ottawa researchers 1st in country to develop test to find COVID-19 variant in wastewater
Dr. Day says a test that detects a variant of the COVID-19 virus in wastewater will give researchers a clearer picture of "where we currently stand" when it comes to the presence of more transmissible variantss. He also says it may be too early to consider loosening restrictions, given limited surveillance and data about the prevalence of the new B117 variant.
