Apple Pay launches today

Monday, October 20, 2014

Queen’s University technology expert Neil Bearse is available to comment on the launch of Apple Pay: a mobile payment and digital wallet service.

“Carrying a wallet and paying with plastic is a habit deeply ingrained into millions of consumers,” says Mr. Bearse. “It may not be the most high tech arrangement, but it works essentially every time.”

Mr. Bearse is an expert in Apple technology.

“For Apple Pay to succeed it has to live up to its promise of being simple, convenient and reliable,” says Mr. Bearse. “One only has to look at the failed experiment between Starbucks and Square to see that the shiny new way doesn’t always work out as planned.”
