Available Expert - Brexit talks fail after backlash against proposals for the Irish border

Tuesday, December 5, 2017

Queen’s University expert John McGarry is available to comment on Brexit talks breaking down between the United Kingdom and the European Union. Theresa May announced that the UK and the EU failed to reach an agreement to move to the next stage of Brexit talks but she was confident talks would resume before the end of the week.

The UK is due to leave the EU in March 2019 and Prime Minister Theresa May is under pressure to reach an agreement on the Irish border so negotiations can move forward.

Dr. McGarry is the Canada Research Chair in Nationalism and Democracy.
