Available Expert - Deadly protests in Israel/Gaza as U.S. opens new Jerusalem embassy

Monday, May 14, 2018

Queen’s University expert on the Middle East Houchang Hassan-Yari is available to comment on the deadly protests in Israel/Gaza launched in opposition to today’s U.S. Embassy opening in Jerusalem.

"Today is a significant day in the Israel Arab/Palestinian conflict,” says Dr. Hassan-Yari. “It is also a day of departure from an international consensus on the Jerusalem question. While the U.S. was inaugurating its new Embassy in Jerusalem, more than 40 Palestinians have already been killed by Israelis during their protest."

Please note: Dr. Hassan-Yari (who speaks French, English and Farsi) wants to be identified in the media as an expert on the Middle East from Queen’s University and Royal Military College.
