Available Expert - Decision on woman appearing on Canadian banknote being made tomorrow

Queen’s University professor Jonathan Rose is available for comment on the selection of the Canadian woman for the banknote. The shortlist revealed on November 24 included Viola Desmond, E. Pauline Johnson, Elizabeth MacGill, Fanny Rosenfeld and Idola Saint-Jean.

Dr. Rose was the expert advisor on the selection panel and will be in Ottawa for tomorrow’s announcement.

The final selection and the denomination of the bill on which she will appear is being announced tomorrow by Finance Minister Bill Morneau and Bank of Canada governor Stephen Poloz.
