Available Expert - First Presidential debate

Monday, September 26, 2016

Queen's University political expert Tim Abray is available for comment ahead of and following tonight's Presidential Debate. Democratic Party nominee, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Republican nominee Donald Trump will meet at Hofstra University for the first of three debates. The campaign to date has seen a wide array of storylines - from Mr. Trump's policy pronouncements which have been decried as racist or implausible, to controversies stemming from Secretary Clinton's time in office - all of which are likely to be addressed during the debate.

Mr. Abray is a teaching fellow and doctoral candidate in the Department of Political Studies at Queen's University. His research looks at the effects of political communication on voter behaviour - in particular, how electoral tactics affect voters’ decisions and their overall attitudes about politics and political institutions. He will be watching and live-Tweeting during the debate, and is available for pre and post-debate analysis.

To arrange an interview, please contact communications officer Chris Armes (613-533-6000 ext. 77513 or chris.armes@queensu.ca) at Queen’s University News and Media Services Department in Kingston, Ont., Canada.
