Available Expert - How companies are changing their business models for this unique Black Friday

Queen's University business expert Tandy Thomas is available to comment on the upcoming Black Friday sales and how the business model has shifted due to the pandemic.

“As with everything in 2020, Black Friday will be different this year," says Dr. Thomas. "While we will not see the same kind of in-person shopping hysteria that has captivated consumers for the past few years, we will see firms capitalize on their online stores to draw in sales. Fortunately, retailers are well-trained for this kind of event---in recent years, online shopping has become a key component of Black Friday, and cyber Monday, shopping. This year will see those elements of the retail landscape move to center stage, with covid-19 prevention measures sharing in some of that spotlight.”
