    Wednesday, August 2, 2023

Fruit flies are considered a household annoyance, but few people know that 79 square miles of Los Angeles County is currently under a produce quarantine due to presence of an invasive fruit fly species.

This is “the first Tau fruit fly quarantine ever in the Western Hemisphere”

Dr. Chippindale (Biology) is available to speak to media about the risk that the Tau fruit fly poses to agriculture, how quarantines can used to combat the fruit fly, and if a similar situation could occur in Canada.
