AVAILABLE EXPERT: Major announcement coming from NASA

Monday, September 28, 2015

Queen’s University astronomy expert David Hanes is available to comment the announcement coming from NASA today regarding Mars. Speculation is swirling that the announcement could include water being found on the Red Planet or even signs of alien life.

“The potential of Mars as an abode for extraterrestrial life has figured actively both in human story-telling and in scientific investigation for more than a century,” says Dr. Hanes, who will be watching the announcement live. “Active tests for life carried out by the Viking landers in the 1970s were ambiguous, but more recent detailed explorations by sophisticated robotic landers have led to discoveries that may provide new insights into this exciting question. Could there be life on Mars?”
