Available Expert - NASA to make announcement on exoplanets

Wednesday, February 22, 2017

Queen's University astronomer Nathalie Ouellette is available to comment on the outcome of a NASA press conference presenting new findings regarding exoplanets - planets outside our solar system. Speculation about the content of the "major announcement" - which will take place at  1 pm ET - ranges from newly disovered exoplanets, to the discovery of planets suitable for life, to even the possibility that researchers have uncovered evidence of alien life itself.

Dr. Ouellette is a research associate at Queen's University in the Department of Physics, Engineering Physics and Astronomy. Her doctoral disertation surveyed the Virgo Cluster Galaxies, and her research focus consists of galaxies and space outside of our own solar system. She will be watching the live stream of the announcement and will be able to comment or provide context on the significance of the findings announced.
