Available Expert - New research uncovers how lizards are able to breathe underwater

    Tuesday, May 25, 2021

Queen’s University doctoral student Christopher Boccia (Biology) is available to talk about a first of its kind discovery he uncovered while completing his master’s degree at the University of Toronto. Boccia found six species of tropical lizards that carry bubbles underwater to breathe. These animals, which can be found in Latin America and the Caribbean, can re-breathe oxygen in these bubbles to extend their time underwater.
