Available Expert - Queen's University professor comments on survivor guilt after Broncos' bus crash

Monday, April 9, 2018

Queen’s University expert Dean Tripp (Psychology) is available to comment on survivor’s guilt experienced by people close to tragedy.

“Not everyone experiences it, but people near and far to those young men may experience survivors guilt created by an endless loop of counterfactual thinking believing they have could have done something or did wrong by surviving the event when others did not,” says Dr. Tripp. “Acknowledge feelings, recognize that they are common/natural to healing, talk if you like, do something for someone else. #HumboldtBroncos”

Dr. Tripp works in the Department of Athletics, High Performance Program as the Mental Training Coach.
