Available Expert - Sneezing Season: Queen’s Expert Speaks to Allergies

Thursday, June 9, 2022

Queen’s expert Dr. Anne Ellis (Health Science), Chair of Queen’s Division of Allergy and Immunology and clinician scientist at Kingston Health Sciences Centre, is available to speak about seasonal allergies, pollen counts this year, and what people can do to manage their allergies.

Dr. Ellis can discuss everyday actions people who suffer from seasonal allergies can take to manage their symptoms, including better air circulation and filtration methods.

“This year’s tree pollen season actually started on time, but in the more recent past we’ve had a very late start to tree pollen season, owing to much longer winters,” said Dr. Ellis.

“When we wind up with a longer winter, we have more time to ‘forget’ how bad our seasonal allergies can be, so they affect us more dramatically when they come back.”
