AVAILABLE EXPERT: Tesla set to release a battery that could power an entire home

Thursday, April 30, 2015

Queen’s University energy policy expert Warren Mabee is available for comment on Tesla unveiling a battery today that has the capability to power homes, businesses and utilities.

This new generation of batteries are designed to store growing amounts of solar and wind energy.

“I think that the interesting thing about home power generation is that it is really democratizing power; while we are still caught in the trap of thinking about large-scale generation, the technology is moving towards having local or personalized generation potential,” says Dr. Mabee.

Dr. Mabee’s research focuses on the interface between renewable energy policy and technologies and is an expert in environmental policy, approaches to renewable energy development and the commercialization of new products and processes.

Please note that Dr. Mabee is only available this morning for interviews.
