Available Expert - White House bars reporters from briefing

Friday, February 24, 2017

Queen's University political communications expert Vincent Mosco is available for phone interviews on the breaking news that the Trump White House has denied access to the daily press briefing to reporters from CNN, The New York Times, LA Times and Politico. The move is considered a highly unusual breach of protocol in the relationship between the press and the executive branch, and comes on the heels of President Trump's address to CPAC where he again railed against the mainstream media.

Dr. Vincent Mosco is a professor emeritus at Queen's University in the Department of Sociology. His research focus includes the sociology of communication and information technology, as well as the political economy of the media. He is available by phone only.

To arrange an interview, please contact communications officer Chris Armes (613-533-6000 x77513 or chris.armes@queensu.ca) or  Anne Craig (613-533-2877 or anne.craig@queensu.ca) at Queen’s University News and Media Services Department in Kingston, Ont., Canada.
