AVAILABLE EXPERT: World oil prices tumble

Wednesday, December 3, 2014

Queen’s University business expert David Detomasi is available to comment on the world collapse of oil prices and the effect on the economy. Oil prices are down sharply this year, losing over 30 per cent of their value since hitting a summer peak.

“More than a temporary halt, low oil prices may be here for awhile. This will have not only effects on Canada’s business outlook, but will also have wider geopolitical and international effects that Canada will need to adapt to.  It is not just a national phenomenon, but the effects of low oil prices need to also be placed in a wider global context.”
